Staff Roles

This is a graphical timeline for the 2024 CUAC election. Nominations will open after the meeting on April 6th and close on April 13 at 23:59. If there are vacant positions after nominations but more than one person running for another position, you may be able to swap nominations to one of the vacant ones, this closes on April 16. Campaigning opens on April 17. Voting opens on April 20 and closes on April 27, you will be sent an email with the ballot. Results will be announced at the shoot on April 27!

Carleton Archery is looking for a number of volunteers to fill roles across both the Carleton University Archery Club (CUAC) and Carleton Archery Club, Inc.

All five CUAC positions are currently up for nominations, which close on April 13! CUAC staff must be current Carleton students. Those who hold a CUAC position will also be appointed to the board of Carleton Archery Club, Inc., so it is the perfect opportunity to gain experience with a not-for-profit while helping out the club! 

Carleton Archery Club, Inc., officer and volunteer positions will be filled on an ongoing basis, these positions are appointed by the Board.

CUAC Staff Roles

President

The President is responsible for the general management of the CUAC. The President will lead the other CUAC staff, set the goals and direction of the CUAC, organize regular staff meetings, ensure staff attendance and liaise with CUSA as needed.

VP Finance

The VP Finance is responsible for CUAC financial matters, including budgeting for room rentals and making payments to athletics. The VP Finance is also primarily responsible for seeking grants and sponsorships to help fund club activities.

VP Internal

The VP Internal acts as the club secretary, including keeping member lists and records, ensuring the waiver is filled out. The VP Internal also supports the president in their duties, and acts as the president in the absence of the president.

VP Communications

VP Communications is responsible for running the club’s social media accounts, drafting materials for the website, and advertising club events. VP Communications will work with VP Events to support club engagement and contribute to well attended and successful events.

VP Events

The VP Events is responsible for event scheduling and planning, working with athletics for bookings, and organizing fun archery events, tournaments and club engagement activities. The VP Events will work with the VP Communications to ensure successful events.

Carleton Archery Club Inc. Officer and Volunteer Roles

Assistant Treasurer (Corporate Officer/ Volunteer)

The Assistant Treasurer helps the Treasurer helps keep the corporate financial leger up to date, takes payments through the square terminal, keeps square up to date, and helps manage the financial affairs of Carleton Archery Club, Inc., in line with the guidance and directions of the Treasurer and the Board of Directors.

Coach (Volunteer)


A coach is responsible for organizing and running structured archery lessons. Coaches will be provided with goals and milestones in-line with NCCP and Archery Canada archer development guidance, but coaches will have the ability to tailor lessons as they see fit. 

A coach is also responsible for the safety of participants in the events they lead. They will work with other coaches or RSOs.

Range Safety Officer (Volunteer)

A Range Safety Officer (RSO) works under the direction of the Head of Range Safety and is responsible for ensuring the safety of all participants at Carleton Archery events and enforcing Carleton Archery, Archery Canada and Archery Ontario rules as appropriate. RSOs are also responsible for operating the clock and may be responsible for the range during open shooting. RSOs also help with set-up and take down of the range and may be required to inspect the range set up and take down and record it through the forms developed by the Head of Range Safety. RSOs may work alongside the Head of Range Safety, coaches, or other corporate directors.
